Schools come up early in almost every Sienna conversation, and the most useful thing to know is this: the community name does not tell you which campuses a particular house is assigned to. School assignment is decided address by address. Attendance boundaries change from time to time. Fort Bend ISD has also already approved middle and high school boundary changes that take effect for the 2027-28 school year, so a home’s assignment this year and its assignment next year can be different.
This guide explains how to check. It covers the difference between the current school year and the approved 2027-28 boundaries, why listing data is not proof, what to verify during a purchase or a lease, and how sellers and owners can describe schools accurately. It does not rate or rank schools, and it does not assign any Sienna village or section to a campus.
Start With the Address, Not the Community Name
Sienna is a large community with many villages and sections built over many years. Attendance zones do not follow village names, and two homes a short distance apart can be assigned to different campuses. Fort Bend ISD’s policy, as stated on its school locator page, is that a student attends the school for the attendance zone where the student lives, with transfers handled through the district’s own procedures.
That makes school research for a Sienna home two separate questions:
- Which school district is the property in? Confirm it on the property’s record in the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District property search, which lists the taxing units for the parcel, including the school district.
- Which campuses is the address assigned to, and for which school year? Use Fort Bend ISD’s official address lookup for the school year that matters to you.
Current School Year and Approved 2027-28 Boundaries
Fort Bend ISD publishes separate address lookups for different school years. During this boundary transition, two matter:
- 2026-27: the FBISD 26-27 School Locator, which looks up the attendance zone for a house address.
- 2027-28: the interactive 2027-2028 School Locator on FBISD’s Boundary Planning and Enrollment Management page, which shows the assigned elementary, middle and high school for a location under the boundaries approved for 2027-28. The same page has the approved middle and high school maps.
On October 5, 2026, the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees approved the sole middle school boundary scenario presented and High School Boundary Scenario #1, with the changes taking effect for the 2027-28 school year. The district has said it will share transition timelines and campus support plans with affected families. The FBISD news release on the approval and the boundary planning page are the official sources.
A few points from the district’s approved materials are worth knowing as a Sienna buyer or renter:
- The approved middle school map includes changes in the southern part of the district involving the Baines, Lake Olympia and Amy Coleman Middle School attendance areas.
- FBISD’s stated purpose for the high school changes was relieving Austin, Elkins and Travis high schools and improving feeder alignment.
- Elementary boundaries were redrawn separately, effective with the 2026-27 school year. FBISD’s list of approved 2026-27 changes includes a group involving Heritage Rose, Leonetti and Scanlan Oaks.
None of those points tells you the result for a particular house. They are reasons to look the address up in both lookups rather than rely on what a listing, a neighbor or an older website says. If the 2026-27 and 2027-28 answers differ, that difference is a question for the district before you rely on either one.
Why Listing Data and Word of Mouth Are Not Enough
School names in a listing are entered by the listing side and are not a verification of assignment. They can also predate a boundary change. A neighbor’s experience can reflect an earlier boundary, a transfer or a different section. Developer and builder marketing often lists campuses located in or near a community, which is not the same thing as the campuses a specific lot is zoned to. Treat all of these as starting points and confirm the address with FBISD.
How to Verify Schools for a Specific Sienna Property
- Get the full street address. A village or section name is not enough. For a new home, ask the builder for the address assigned to the lot.
- Confirm the school district on the property’s appraisal district record.
- Look the address up in the 26-27 School Locator for the current year.
- Look it up in the 2027-2028 School Locator on the boundary planning page.
- Compare the two results. If they differ, or the address sits close to a boundary line, contact FBISD’s boundary planning team at boundaryplanning@fortbendisd.gov and review the district’s Student Transfer Information Center before relying on any assumption about staying at a current campus.
- Save a dated screenshot of each result for your records.
- Check transportation separately. Do not assume a student can walk or will be bused. FBISD’s transportation page and bus route locator cover eligibility.
What Buyers Should Do During a Purchase
If schools are part of your decision, do the address check before your option period ends, not after closing. Recheck if the purchase runs long or if FBISD posts new boundary information while you are under contract. Treat any school statement in a listing or marketing piece as information to confirm, not as a promise. If a specific campus is essential to you, say so early so the homes you consider can be checked one address at a time.
For Tenants Considering a Sienna Lease
Renters should run the same check on the exact address before signing. Lease timing matters: a lease that starts in one school year and runs into the next may cross a boundary change, so look at both lookups. When you are ready to register, FBISD’s Student Enrollment page explains what the district needs from new families.
For Sellers and Owners Who Lease: Describing Schools Accurately
Buyers and tenants will ask about schools, and it helps to answer carefully. Share the result of the official FBISD lookup for the property, note which school year it applies to, and invite the buyer or tenant to verify the address with Fort Bend ISD themselves. If the 2027-28 lookup shows a different assignment from the current year, it is better to say so plainly than to let someone find out after the fact. Avoid describing a home as zoned to a campus based on the village name alone.
If you are weighing a sale, the Sienna seller guide covers pricing and preparation. If you are thinking about leasing instead, the owner leasing guide walks through that decision.
Campus Information and Other Options
For an individual campus, including its address, calendar and contacts, use Fort Bend ISD’s school directory. Private, charter and early-childhood programs also operate in and around Sienna. Confirm enrollment, availability and transportation directly with each one. This guide does not rate or compare schools. If a campus matters to you, visit it and talk with the school directly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does living in Sienna decide which schools a home is zoned to?
No. Assignment is decided by the specific address. Different parts of Sienna can be assigned to different campuses, so check each address with Fort Bend ISD’s lookup.
Will a home’s current school assignment stay the same?
Not necessarily. Fort Bend ISD has approved middle and high school boundary changes that take effect for the 2027-28 school year, and boundaries can change again in the future. Check both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 lookups.
Where do I check the 2027-28 assignment for an address?
Use the interactive 2027-2028 School Locator on FBISD’s Boundary Planning and Enrollment Management page. Enter the full address and view the assigned elementary, middle and high school.
Can I rely on the school listed in the MLS or a listing description?
Use it as a starting point only. Listing school fields are not a verification of assignment and can predate a boundary change. Confirm the address with FBISD.
Which high school serves Sienna?
It depends on the address and the school year. Buyers in the Sienna area often ask about Ridge Point and Almeta Crawford, but neither is assigned by community name. Check the specific address in the lookup for the year you care about.
Do school boundaries matter for a lease?
They can. A lease can span two school years, and the approved 2027-28 boundaries may differ from the current ones. Check the exact address in both lookups before signing.
Who should I contact with a boundary or transfer question?
Fort Bend ISD. The boundary planning team can be reached at boundaryplanning@fortbendisd.gov, and transfer rules are on the district’s Student Transfer Information Center page.
